A gang of six Egyptians has been arrested by the General Department of Criminal Investigations for stealing vehicles from dump sites across various areas and towing them to a garage in the Salmi Scrap Yard.
According to the Arabic daily Al Rai, the stolen cars were dismantled for spare parts, and their bodies were later crushed to eliminate evidence of the crimes.
The Ministry of Interior stated that the seizure followed accurate intelligence regarding a gang involved in vehicle theft. Detectives launched an investigation, which led to the identification of the suspects and surveillance of their location. They were subsequently arrested, and several stolen vehicles along with various spare parts were found in their possession.
