“Sheraa” Kuwait Media Award launched by Minister Al-Mutairi

The Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, announced the launch of the Annual Kuwait Media Award “Sheraa” today. This award seeks to honor outstanding achievements in various media fields and foster the production of meaningful and sustainable content.

In a press statement issued by the Ministry of Information, Al-Mutairi explained that the launch of the award coincides with the festive atmosphere surrounding the upcoming national holidays and the declaration of Kuwait as the capital of Arab culture and media.

Importantly, Al-Mutairi emphasized that the award reflects the Ministry’s vision of supporting media professionals and encouraging them to produce distinguished works that contribute to enhancing community awareness.

Al-Mutairi stated the Ministry’s commitment to driving positive change, highlighting the continuous support of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled, and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmed Al-Abdullah for the media, and media professionals.

Moreover, Al-Mutairi explained that the “Sheraa” Award features both individual and group competitions across various media sectors, aiming to provide a platform that nurtures creativity and supports young media talents in Kuwait.

The award also has an Arab dimension, with members of the arbitration committees from sister Arab countries participating to ensure a comprehensive evaluation process and the enhancement of media standards.

Al-Mutairi stated that the complete details of the award, including its categories and application criteria, will be announced next week.

Furthermore, Al-Mutairi expressed his gratitude to the Higher Committee overseeing the award and to all those who contributed to organizing the event.

Al-Mutairi encouraged media professionals and institutions in Kuwait to participate in this prominent national initiative, emphasizing the importance of strengthening the national media landscape and solidifying Kuwait’s position as the capital of media thought and creativity.
