Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad deposits checque in court covering alleged embezzled funds

In a significant development during his ongoing trial before the Ministerial Court, Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad submitted a check covering the full amount he is accused of embezzling.
According to Al-Rai daily, he requested that the cheque be delivered to the Enforcement Directorate as part of the legal proceedings.
During the session, Al-Fahad’s defense team made several formal requests to the court. Chief among them was a demand for the summoning of prosecution witnesses, including the officer who initially documented the incident. In addition, the defense submitted a comprehensive portfolio of documents they believe are relevant to the case.
In a further move to support their argument, the defense called on the court to provide records detailing the confidential expenditures of the Ministry of Defense from the year 1962 up to the period immediately preceding their client’s assumption of the ministerial post. The defense argued that access to these documents is essential for establishing context and verifying the legitimacy of spending practices during that timeframe.
Following these submissions and requests, the court decided to adjourn the session in order to deliberate and issue a decision on the presented matters. The proceedings continue to draw public and media attention due to the high-profile nature of the case and the broader implications for accountability and governance in public office.
