Seven held at Nuwaiseeb crossing attempting to leave Kuwait using fake Gulf passports

The vigilance of a police officer at the Nuwaiseeb border crossing foiled an attempt by seven members of a single family to leave the country using forged Gulf passports.

According to a security source, border personnel were conducting routine inspections of travelers’ documents when an officer noticed irregularities in the passports carried by a group of seven people, including men and women. The passports lacked the special departure permit paper normally issued during exit procedures.

When questioned, the travelers claimed that the passport officer had not provided them with the required document, which raised suspicion among security staff, reports Al-Rai daily.

The group was detained for further verification, and inspections revealed that their passports had not been officially stamped.

The individuals were referred to the competent authorities for fingerprint identification. The results confirmed that the passengers were not Gulf nationals, except for the vehicle’s driver, who was found to hold Gulf citizenship.

The source added that authorities subsequently registered a case forgery of official documents and attempted illegal exit. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
