• Seven doctors are being investigated, and six clinics have been closed due to inappropriate advertising and unethical practices.

• The ministry is committed to ensuring high-quality healthcare services for all citizens and residents.

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Health has issued a stern warning to healthcare providers after cracking down on unethical practices within the medical sector, reports Al-Qabas newspaper.

In a decisive move to uphold medical ethics and protect patient welfare, the Ministry has ordered the closure of six private healthcare facilities and initiated investigations into seven doctors.

The stringent actions were taken in response to a series of violations that contravened the provisions of Law No. 70 of 2020, which regulates the medical profession and patient rights, as well as Ministerial Decree No. 87 of 2023 governing medical advertising in the private healthcare sector.

Investigations revealed that the affected clinics had published advertisements that were deemed to be in violation of medical ethics and public decency.

Specifically, the advertisements featured images that were considered to be excessively revealing and inappropriate. As a result, the responsible doctors have also been referred for investigation.

The Ministry of Health has emphasized its commitment to maintaining high standards of healthcare services in Kuwait.

To this end, the Ministry has vowed to continue its rigorous inspections and oversight of healthcare facilities to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations. Healthcare providers have been urged to adhere strictly to the established guidelines and codes of conduct.
