A senior Iranian official said the proposals and positions presented by European powers during nuclear talks in Geneva were “unrealistic,” warning that insisting on such demands would not bring the parties any closer to a final agreement.
“These proposals do not reflect the realities on the ground, and continuing to push them will only prolong the deadlock,” the official told Reuters, speaking on condition of anonymity.
Despite the lack of progress, the official confirmed that Iran will review the European proposals in Tehran and provide its response at the next round of negotiations.
The statement underscores ongoing tensions and limited progress in the revived nuclear discussions between Tehran and European signatories of the 2015 nuclear deal, amid broader geopolitical friction and concerns over Iran’s uranium enrichment activities.
