Securitymen arrest bootlegger, issues 1,300 traffic citations during security campaign

Directorate General of Emergency Police recorded 1,300 traffic violations and made 33 arrests during a comprehensive security campaign on Thursday, seized locally produced bottles of alcohol ready for sale, residency law violators, 27 arrested for expired residency, and 15 vehicles wanted by law were impounded across several governorates.

The authorities also recorded 12 cases involving individuals without official identification, three cases involving drugs and alcohol, and two criminal and civil cases. This is in addition to impounding 26 vehicles due to serious traffic violations, one bladed weapon was seized, and one person was detained at a traffic police station.



The campaign was conducted as part of the Ministry of Interior’s ongoing efforts to strengthen security, enforce the law and enhance the safety of citizens and residents. The Ministry of Interior said the campaign covered a number of areas, locations, as well as main and secondary roads across the country.
