Security sweep in Khaitan nets 50 wanted persons, 705 traffic citations

In a coordinated security operation at dawn on Thursday, the Traffic and Operations Sector, in collaboration with the Public Security Affairs Sector at the Ministry of Interior, launched a major crackdown in the Khaitan area targeting violators of laws and regulations and aiming to reinforce traffic safety.
The campaign resulted in the issuance of 705 traffic violations and the arrest of 50 individuals, including 20 violators of residency and labor laws, 3 persons without identification, 10 persons reported absconding, 12 against whom arrest warrants had been issued, and 5 found in possession of suspected narcotic and intoxicating substances, reports Al-Rai daily.
Additionally, a vehicle was impounded due to traffic violations, a wanted motorcycle was seized, and two persons were referred to the traffic department for further legal action.
According to the Ministry’s statement, the campaign involved widespread deployment of security and traffic patrols throughout the area, supported by strict inspection and regulatory measures.
The Ministry of Interior reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to enforcing the law equitably and without exception, noting that such operations will continue across various regions to ensure the safety and security of both citizens and residents.
The Ministry also praised public cooperation and urged all residents to report violations or suspicious activities through the emergency hotline 112.
