Security officer arrested for misusing authority

The Criminal Security Sector, represented by the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation (Criminal Investigation and Licenses Department), has apprehended a security officer caught exploiting his position. The officer was found guilty of accepting bribes to falsely accuse individuals from the Asian community of trading alcoholic beverages and subsequently deport them from the country.

The Ministry of Interior has confirmed the arrest and stated that the officer has been referred to the Public Prosecution for necessary legal action. The Ministry emphasized its firm stance against any actions that tarnish the reputation of the security institution, asserting that no one is above the law. They reiterated that security personnel are vigilant and will not tolerate any attempts to undermine the country’s safety.

This arrest is part of the ongoing efforts by the Ministry of Interior to maintain security and fight corruption.
