Security authorities detain citizen for spreading hate speech online

Kuwaiti security forces have arrested a citizen who used the social media to insult the community and incite sectarianism, in a move seen as an attempt to damage national unity and provoke discord within society.

According to the Ministry of Interior, the suspect posted a tweet containing offensive language that targeted the social fabric of the nation. The content, which quickly circulated on social media platforms, was deemed inflammatory and aimed at promoting sectarian strife, reports Al-Rai daily.

The authorities confirmed legal measures have been taken against the man. The Ministry of Interior reiterated its firm stance against any actions or speech that threaten national unity, promote hate, or seek to stir sectarian divisions.

The ministry stressed that it will not tolerate such behavior and will continue to enforce the law to preserve social harmony and national security.
