Prince Al Waleed bin Khaled bin Talal Al Saud, affectionately known as the “Sleeping Prince,” has passed away after spending nearly 20 years in a coma caused by a tragic road accident in 2005.
Born in April 1990, Prince Al Waleed was the eldest son of Prince Khaled bin Talal Al Saud and a nephew of Saudi billionaire Prince Al Waleed bin Talal. At the age of 15, while studying in London as a military cadet, he sustained severe brain injuries and internal bleeding in a devastating car crash.
Despite extensive efforts by medical teams from the US and Spain, the prince never fully regained consciousness. He remained in a minimally responsive state for over two decades, showing occasional involuntary movements that sparked hope among family and followers.
Throughout the years, his father, Prince Khaled, remained steadfast in his belief in divine recovery, refusing to end life support despite medical opinions.
Social media was flooded with tributes as news of the prince’s passing spread, with many remembering the family’s resilience and faith during his prolonged ordeal.
