Saudi Arabia on Thursday tested delivery of postal parcels, the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
The test was executed by the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), in collaboration with the Transport General Authority (TGA).
Deputy Minister of Transport and Logistics Rumaih Al-Rumaih said this step would open new horizons for expanding delivery services and developing innovative solutions, in line with the Kingdom’s digital transformation initiatives.
Suleiman Al-Muhaimedi, the deputy chief executive officer for aviation safety and environmental sustainability, affirmed that the drones’ employment would speed up postal services throughout the kingdom.
GACA had updated executive bylaws for aviation safety in harmony with rules set by international and regional aviation agencies. – KUNA
