Saudi Arabia has expanded its eVisa platform to offer a 12-month, multiple-entry permit for expatriate residents of GCC states, including Kuwait.
Announced in Riyadh and confirmed by Kuwait-based travel agents, the visa can be obtained fully online through ksavisa.sa in as little as 30 minutes.
The permit allows unlimited trips within the year, with each stay limited to 90 days, and covers tourism, family visits, business meetings, and Umrah outside the Hajj season. Fees are approximately US$92, plus mandatory medical insurance that varies by provider.
Applicants must hold a passport valid for at least six months, a Kuwait residence visa valid for three months, and a digital photograph.
The policy significantly reduces paperwork for Kuwait’s diverse expatriate community, many of whom frequently travel to the Kingdom for religious, personal, or commercial reasons.
Corporate mobility teams will benefit as well: executives can avoid consulate appointments and schedule short-notice visits to NEOM, Riyadh’s financial district, or other project sites using the same visa.
Travel managers should note that minors must apply under a parent’s profile, and eVisa holders entering during peak Umrah periods may still face capacity limits.
Airlines anticipate increased weekend traffic on the Kuwait–Riyadh and Kuwait–Jeddah routes as uptake grows.
The move aligns with Saudi Arabia’s goal of attracting 150 million visitors by 2030 and reinforces growing regulatory harmonization within the GCC—a trend highlighted by recent regional travel facilitation initiatives.
