Saudi Arabia grants VistaJet certification to operate domestic private flights

The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) in Saudi Arabia has awarded VistaJet, a private aircraft operator, a Foreign Operator Certificate (FOC), making it the first foreign private airline authorized to fly domestic flights within the Kingdom.

GACA stated that the certification is part of its decision to allow foreign companies operating private aircraft to perform on-demand domestic flights, provided they meet all requirements outlined in the executive regulations of the Civil Aviation System.

Awad bin Atallah Al-Salmi, GACA’s Executive Vice President for Economic Policies and Logistics, described the move as a key milestone in developing Saudi Arabia’s private aviation sector. He emphasized that granting this certificate to VistaJet will enhance competition, drive sector growth, and improve service quality for passengers.

This decision reflects Saudi Arabia’s broader efforts to modernize its aviation industry, encourage foreign investment, and expand options in private air travel.
