Salmi border customs foil yet another cigarette smuggling attempt

Kuwaiti customs officers at the Salmi border crossing thwarted an attempt to smuggle 35 cartons of cigarettes hidden in a car’s interior.

According to the General Administration of Customs, as the vehicle approached the customs area, the vigilant customs officers subjected it to a thorough check since it was involved in a prior violation at another port, reports Al-Rai daily.

During the search officers found the cigarettes neatly concealed with utmost precision to avoid detection.

The authorities stressed that the operation highlights the vigilance and skill of customs personnel in spotting potential violations, even when smugglers use sophisticated concealment methods.
