‘Sahel’ vehicle registration sees 500 transactions in first nine hours

The Ministry of Interior has launched various electronic services, including online driving licenses, vehicle services, technical inspections, and a new app for individual vehicles.

Under Sheikh Fahad Al Yousefs guidance, the Ministry of Interior is transitioning all services online to streamline access and reduce individual influence, with new electronic services like technical inspection and vehicle registration coming soon.

Brigadier General Khaled Al-Adwani, Director of the Technical Office Department in the Traffic and Operations Affairs Sector at the Ministry of Interior, announced that the ministry has introduced numerous electronic services. These include online driving license services, vehicle services, technical inspections implemented four months ago, and the recent launch of an easy-to-use app for individual vehicles, according to Al Jarida newspaper.

Al-Adwani told Al-Jarida newspaper that the ministry received 500 transactions within the first nine hours of launching the ‘Sahel’ service for converting individual vehicles.

He noted that the service currently does not include companies and is limited to private cars and bicycles as a first phase. This achievement follows over five months of collaboration with various government agencies, including the General Directorate of Information Systems and the Insurance Regulation Unit.

He stated that the Ministry of Interior, under the direct guidance of Sheikh Fahad Al Yousef, the First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Minister of Interior, is working diligently to transition all its services online. This effort aims to streamline access to people’s rights and services, minimizing the influence of individual interests. He also highlighted the imminent launch of additional electronic services, including technical inspection and vehicle registration.
