Improving U.S.-Russia relations will take time: Peskov

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated today that improving relations between Russia and the United States will require time and patience. His remarks were published by Russia’s state-run news agency, TASS.

Peskov noted the prolonged lack of direct engagement between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump, saying, “There is, of course, a stalemate in this process.”

He emphasized that restoring normal bilateral relations is not immediate, adding, “It takes time to restore bilateral relations to normal.”

According to TASS, this marks the first time in modern Russian history that more than six months have passed since the inauguration of a new U.S. president without a summit meeting with the Russian president.
