Rescue police arrest over 800 in June crackdown on crime and traffic violations

As part of continuous efforts to reinforce security and public safety across Kuwait, the General Department of Rescue Police revealed that between June 1 and 30, rescue police arrested and referred 46 persons to the General Department for Drug Control, took into custody 15 criminals, detained 350 civil-case offenders who were arrested during security checkpoints in residential and commercial areas and also arrested 470 residency law violators.
Additionally, 309 vehicles connected to legal cases or subject to property seizure orders were seized at 37 security checkpoints, bolstering the state’s security presence. Officers also resolved 11 theft cases, and handed over the suspects to the concerned authorities for legal action, reports Al-Anba daily.
The Rescue Police also intensified traffic enforcement operations, which resulted in issuing 25,986 traffic citations for speeding, running red traffic lights, driving without a license, reckless driving and other infractions; detained 27 serious traffic offenders and 32 vehicles were impounded for repeated or dangerous violations.
The officers also responded to 675 traffic accidents, ranging from minor collisions to severe crashes, ensuring timely support and legal follow-up.
The General Directorate of Emergency Police confirmed that these campaigns are ongoing and will continue daily to maintain law and order, support crime prevention, and ensure road safety.
The department urges citizens and residents to cooperate with security personnel, emphasizing that law compliance is a shared responsibility vital to protecting lives, property, and the nation’s overall stability.
