Repair work begins at Khaled Youssef Al-Marzouq Road and Gamal Abdel Nasser Road tunnel
The authority will implement a temporary diversion on the Fifth Ring Road in both directions (at the intersection of the Fifth Ring Road with Ibn Al-Qasim Street) until next Thursday morning, the 16th of this month, from 2 am to 5 am.
The General Authority for Roads and Land Transport stated that, under the guidance and supervision of Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan, the Minister of Public Works and Minister of State for Municipal Affairs, repair work has commenced on the tunnel situated at the intersection of Khaled Youssef Al-Marzouq Road (Second Ring Road) and Gamal Abdel Nasser Road. This work had ceased several years ago.
On the other hand, the authority stated that, in cooperation with the General Traffic Department, it would implement a temporary diversion on the Fifth Ring Road in both directions (at the intersection of the Fifth Ring Road with Ibn Al-Qasim Street) starting Saturday morning, the 11th of this month, until next Thursday morning, the 16th of this month, from 2 am to 5 am.
On the other hand, the authority announced that, in cooperation with the General Traffic Department, it had temporarily closed the Gamal Abdel Nasser Road tunnel towards Kuwait City for 48 hours and implemented a temporary traffic diversion for necessary repairs. This diversion started from dawn on Friday and will continue until dawn tomorrow, Sunday, with two lanes open and one lane closed for repair work completion.
The authority also announced the opening of the new tunnel on Ibrahim Al-Muzain Street at dawn today in both directions between the intersections of King Faisal Street and Damascus Street in the South Surra area.
