Red Cross Director hails ‘Kuwait Red Crescent’ as a vital humanitarian partner
The Kuwait Red Crescent Society reaffirmed its commitment to global humanitarian efforts at the Riyadh International Humanitarian Forum.

The Chairman of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS), Ambassador Khaled Al-Mughamis, emphasized today, Tuesday 25th February, the Society’s unwavering commitment to humanitarian efforts, highlighting its dedication to delivering crucial aid and support to those impacted by disasters in Kuwait’s name.
This statement was made by Ambassador Khaled Al-Mughamis to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) following his meeting with the Director-General of the International Committee of the Red Cross, Pierre Krähenbühl, and his delegation during the Fourth Riyadh International Humanitarian Forum in Riyadh.
Al-Mughamis stated that the scale, scope, and nature of aid provided by Kuwait through its governmental and non-governmental institutions underscore the country’s vital role in international humanitarian efforts, supporting refugees and displaced persons worldwide.
Regarding his meeting with the international official, Al-Mughamis explained that they discussed cooperation between the Kuwait Red Crescent Society and the International Committee of the Red Cross, as well as their joint humanitarian efforts in response to global challenges and evolving crises.
Furthermore, Pierre Krähenbühl described the Kuwait Red Crescent Society as one of the International Committee of the Red Cross’s “most important” humanitarian partners in the region.
Krähenbühl expressed the International Committee of the Red Cross’s appreciation for the Kuwait Red Crescent Society’s initiatives to ease suffering and improve the lives of those affected by natural disasters and humanitarian crises in various countries.
Importantly, in the meeting it was explored about the strong cooperative ties between both sides and their future prospects, focusing on enhancing international humanitarian efforts and supporting activities and training programs for the association’s volunteers.
In the meeting, Ambassador Al-Mughamis highlighted the association’s recent efforts in Syria, Lebanon, Gaza, Sudan, and Yemen, detailing the programs implemented across various humanitarian sectors.
