Qatar arrests 313 people on suspicion of filming military-related scenes, spreading rumors

. . . as Gulf states condemn Iranian attacks

Iran continued its attacks on several Gulf countries, causing casualties and damage, as regional governments condemned the escalation and strengthened security measures amid rising tensions.

In Qatar, the Ministry of Interior announced the arrest of 313 people of different nationalities on suspicion of filming military-related scenes, spreading rumors and publishing misleading information online.

Authorities urged the public to refrain from filming or circulating videos related to the current situation and to rely only on official sources for information, reports Al-Rai daily.

Saudi Arabia strongly denounced what it described as “heinous” Iranian attacks targeting the Kingdom and other Gulf Cooperation Council states, stressing that such actions cannot be justified under any circumstances.

In a statement issued by the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Riyadh reaffirmed its right to take all necessary measures to protect its sovereignty, national security and the safety of citizens and residents.

Saudi authorities rejected remarks by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, who had said Tehran did not intend to attack neighboring countries. Riyadh said the continued missile and drone strikes contradict those statements and are based on unfounded claims.

The United Arab Emirates Ministry of Defense confirmed that air defense systems intercepted ballistic missiles and drones, explaining that loud explosions heard across the country were caused by successful interceptions.

Oman called for intensified diplomatic efforts and coordinated Arab action to halt the war and prevent further escalation in the region.
