Public Works Ministry lists 17 major road and transport projects in annual plan

The Ministry of Public Works has included 17 major projects for the Roads and Land Transport Authority in its annual plan for the current fiscal year, each valued at more than 75,000 dinars.
The projects aim to enhance road infrastructure, improve drainage networks, and support flood-protection systems across the country.
According to the ministry, the plan covers a wide geographic range—from new residential areas to key ring roads and industrial zones — reflecting continued investment in Kuwait’s land transport network, reports Al-Rai daily.
- Construction, completion and maintenance of roads, bridges, drainage, sewage and associated services along the Kabd–Sulaibiya Industrial Link, including sections of Road 604.
- A new road connecting the existing Seventh Ring Road with the southern section of the Regional Road.
- Road and infrastructure development in the Exhibition Area – South Khaitan.
- Upgrading works for the Third Ring Road, Abdullah Al-Khalaf Street, Cairo Street and two sections of Damascus Street, including new highways and intersections.
- Construction and maintenance of rainwater drainage systems for Sabah Al-Ahmad, South Sabah Al-Ahmad, Al-Khairan and Al-Wafra residential areas.
- Road and services works in Block 4 of Sabah Al-Salem.
- Road, drainage and infrastructure development in northwest Al-Jahra.
- Connecting South Saad Al-Abdullah City’s rainwater network to the existing national system.
- Construction and maintenance of a dual carriageway separating Saad Al-Abdullah City from Amghara Industrial Area, linking to Al-Jahra Road and the Sixth Ring Road.
- Implementation of a rainwater delay tank in Sabah Al-Nasser.
- Flood-protection works for Abdullah Al-Mubarak, West Abdullah Al-Mubarak and Al-Mutlaa, including rainwater lakes for Al-Mutlaa City.
- Establishment and maintenance of rain-induced flood protection systems for current and future scattered areas.
- Cleaning, maintenance and inspection of the rainwater drainage network for highways, including emergency rain response.
- General highway maintenance, urgent works and miscellaneous repairs.
- Operation and maintenance of water pumping stations for airport-area tunnels on highways.
- Sand removal from highways in Kuwait’s northern region.
- Sand removal from highways in the southern region.
The ministry emphasized that these projects form part of its broader effort to modernize the national road network, enhance safety, and improve resilience against seasonal weather conditions.
