Prosecution demands death penalty for 28-year-old Kuwaiti man

Accused of stabbing to death his mother and severely injuring his 10-year-old brother

The Criminal Court is currently hearing a chilling case involving a 28-year-old Kuwaiti citizen accused of murdering his mother and severely injuring his 10-year-old brother in the suburb of Sabah Al-Salem.

During the investigation, the accused confessed to being under the influence of methamphetamine (shabu) at the time of the crime.

According to his statement, he asked his mother for money to buy more drugs. When she refused, he claimed he “lost his temper,” pulled out a knife, and fatally stabbed her. Moments later, upon seeing his younger brother, he stabbed him as well. The child survived the brutal attack and was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

During argument before the court, the Public Prosecution — represented by Deputy Director of Jahra Prosecution, Mohammed Talal Al-Hajri — called for the maximum punishment, demanding the death penalty for what he described as a “heinous and inhuman crime.”

The court proceedings are ongoing, and a final verdict is expected in the coming sessions.
