Prime Minister inaugurates new control tower and third runway at Kuwait International Airport

The Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA) held a ceremony today to inaugurate the new control tower and third runway at Kuwait International Airport under the patronage and attendance of His Highness the Prime Minister, Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.

During the event, His Highness toured the project site, where he received a detailed briefing from the project team on the implementation phases, technical features, and operational capabilities of the new facilities.

His Highness also inspected the modern air traffic control systems installed in the new tower and reviewed the third runway, which is equipped to accommodate all types of aircraft, including next-generation large models.

In a press statement, the Prime Minister emphasized that the opening of the new control tower and third runway marks a qualitative leap in Kuwait’s aviation infrastructure and underscores the state’s commitment to realizing its comprehensive development vision.

“This achievement reflects the government’s dedication to developing airport infrastructure, enhancing operational efficiency, and supporting the national economy by facilitating air and commercial traffic,” His Highness stated.

The ceremony was attended by Minister of Defense Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, Minister of Public Works Dr. Noura Mohammed Al-Mashaan, PACA Director General Sheikh Hamoud Mubarak Hamoud Al-Sabah, and several senior state officials.

PACA officials affirmed that the project was executed in line with the latest international aviation standards, strengthening Kuwait’s position as a regional hub for air transport and logistics.
