Prime Minister chairs meeting on Kuwait-China Agreements

Focus on Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port and development projects

Prime Minister His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Al-Abdullah chaired the 25th meeting of the Ministerial Committee for Monitoring the Implementation of Agreements and Memoranda of Understanding between Kuwait and China at Bayan Palace, in line with the comprehensive development process led by His Highness the Amir Sheikh MIshal Al-Ahmad.

The meeting reviewed progress on major projects, most notably the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port, as well as cooperation in renewable and clean energy, housing development, afforestation, combating desertification, waste recycling, wastewater treatment, and the establishment of free and economic zones.

The Prime Minister has issued instructions to the committee to ensure the swift and efficient completion of these projects, in coordination with the Chinese government, within the agreed timelines and according to the highest international standards.

Assistant Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs and committee rapporteur, Ambassador Samih Jawhar Hayat, announced that three official Chinese delegations will arrive in Kuwait early next week to follow up on joint projects and expand bilateral cooperation in construction, environmental sustainability, and renewable energy.

The meeting was attended by senior ministers and officials, including the Minister of Public Works Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan, Minister of State for Municipal Affairs and Housing Affairs Abdullatif Al-Mishari, Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy Dr. Subaih Al-Mukhaizeem, and Director General of the Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority Sheikh Dr. Mishaal Al-Jaber, among others.

In a separate engagement, His Highness the Prime Minister received at Bayan Palace the CEO of Boeing International, Dr. Brendan Nelson, and the President of Boeing Middle East, Africa, Turkey and Central Asia along with their delegation.

Discussions focused on strengthening cooperation in aircraft manufacturing, imports, and space research, in line with Kuwait’s Vision 2035. The meeting was attended by senior officials, including the Chairman of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation Sheikh Hamoud Al-Mubarak and the Chairman of Kuwait Airways Abdulmohsen Al-Faqan.
