Trump welcomed with full state honors in UAE amid high-level diplomatic visit

U.S. President Donald Trump arrived in Abu Dhabi today (Thursday) as part of a high-level state visit to the United Arab Emirates, where he was received with full honors in a symbolic gesture underscoring the strong ties between the two nations.

At the forefront of the welcoming delegation was UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who personally received Trump and his accompanying delegation at the Presidential Airport in the capital, reports Al-Rai daily.

The reception reflected the deep strategic partnership and ongoing cooperation between the United States and the UAE across various sectors, including politics, defense, trade, and regional security.

Trump’s arrival was marked by a ceremonial military aerial escort, with a squadron of Emirati fighter jets accompanying the U.S. presidential aircraft as it entered UAE airspace. The dramatic flyover served as both a gesture of respect and a symbol of the strong diplomatic relationship shared between the two countries.

In a rare moment of protocol and pageantry, the commander of the escort squadron contacted President Trump over the aircraft’s communication system, requesting permission to accompany him to the airport. The commander welcomed the U.S. president to the UAE, expressing the nation’s honor at receiving him on its soil.

This state visit, described by Emirati officials as a reflection of the “enduring partnership” between the UAE and the United States, is expected to include high-level discussions on regional issues, economic cooperation, and security coordination, especially in light of current geopolitical developments in the Middle East.
