Iran’s official news agency IRNA reported on Saturday that President Masoud Pezeshkian is “safe and unharmed” following Israeli-American strikes on Tehran and other cities.
The attacks reportedly targeted the Pasteur neighborhood in Tehran, where Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and the presidential headquarters are located.
IRNA confirmed, “President Masoud Pezeshkian is fine and has no problems,” alleviating earlier concerns about his safety.
Meanwhile, Iran’s Health Ministry has not yet disclosed the number of casualties or the full extent of affected areas, leaving uncertainty about the human and infrastructural impact of the attacks, reports Al-Rai daily.
Iranian Health Ministry spokesman Hossein Kermanpour announced that the potential number of wounded and the specific areas affected by the Israeli-American strikes on Iran have not yet been announced.
Kermanpour said that the country’s hospitals were on alert, noting that ambulances were dispatched to central Tehran immediately after the explosions were heard.
