Power consumption surges past 17,000 MW; MEW reviews emergency plan

Kuwait’s electrical load index surged past 17,000 megawatts today, marking the highest electricity consumption recorded this summer, according to the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy.

In response, ministry officials held an expanded meeting to assess the readiness of various sectors to activate the emergency response plan if needed, reports Al-Jarida daily.

Informed sources confirmed that sector leaders expressed full preparedness to implement contingency measures in light of ongoing regional developments.
