Police impersonator nabbed in Hawalli; caught driving vehicle with stolen plates

The Hawalli Investigations Department has taken into custody a Kuwaiti man for impersonating a police officer and committing a string of crimes, including vehicle and license plate thefts and intentionally colliding into another vehicle.
According to security sources, these cases were earlier registered against an unknown person at the Salmiya Police Station.
According to the Ministry of Interior, CID tracked down the suspect in the Nahda area, where he was caught driving a vehicle using stolen numbers plates, reports Al-Rai daily.
The man, identified as M.F.M., has a history of criminal past. At the time of arrest, officers found in his possession a stolen vehicle, psychotropic substances, and a police uniform. He later led investigators to another hidden vehicle in the Nahda area.
After securing legal authorization from the Public Prosecution, security forces searched his residence, and found a cache of stolen military items. These included uniforms, military ranks, ID covers, a detective’s flashlight, a dummy pistol, handcuffs, live M16 ammunition, and a ‘sadiri’.
The accused also confessed to robbing three military tailor shops in Al-Raqi, stealing uniforms, and hiding part of the loot in his home.
Investigations further revealed his involvement in vehicle and license plate thefts in several areas —including Salmiya, Andalus, and Al-Dhaher. Authorities confirmed he was already wanted in multiple criminal cases of a similar nature.
