Photo Exhibition highlighting ‘Gulf Week’s’ legacy ahead of ‘45th Gulf Summit’ in Kuwait

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information, Dr. Nasser Mohaisen, inaugurated a photo exhibition organized by the GCC Secretariat in collaboration with the Kuwaiti Ministry of Information. This exhibition is part of the ‘Gulf Weeks’ activities leading up to the 45th Gulf Summit, which will be hosted by Kuwait next Sunday.
Dr. Mohaisen mentioned in a statement to reporters that the exhibition is one of the key events during the Gulf Weeks, which is to highlight the journey of the GCC countries, from the launch of the first Gulf Summit in 1981, to the present summit that is being held in Kuwait.
Moreover, Dr. Mohaisen emphasized that the Ministry of Information and the GCC Secretariat aimed, through the exhibition, to showcase the role of the GCC and the achievements made over the years. He highlighted the exhibition’s focus on demonstrating the cooperation among GCC countries and its role in spreading Gulf culture, which are a key factor in passing this cultural heritage on to the current generation.
Dr. Mohaisen noted that the images displayed in the exhibition reflect both the past achievements of the GCC and ongoing projects between member countries. These include engineering initiatives such as railways and electrical interconnection, as well as projects in various fields including economics, culture, education, arts, media, and more.
Furthermore, Dr. Mohaisen stated that the exhibition is one of 30 events held during ‘Gulf Weeks’, which began last Friday under the patronage of the Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi. He expressed his gratitude to the organizers from the GCC Secretariat and the Ministry of Information for their efforts in promoting and sharing Gulf culture through this exhibition.
For his part, the Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information for the Media Planning and Knowledge Development Sector, and the Undersecretary of External Information, Adel Al-Mashaan, stated that in preparation for the Gulf Summit, the foreign media sector at the Ministry of Information, formed several teams, including the Gulf Weeks team, which was launched last Friday.
Al-Mashaan added that the photo exhibition reflects the unity and cooperation between the Gulf countries, documenting the Gulf cooperation process since its inception.
Importantly, Al-Mashaan expressed gratitude to the GCC Secretariat for its ongoing coordination with the Ministry of Information and encouraged the public to visit the exhibition at the Avenues Complex, highlighting its significant value.
Al-Mashaan highlighted that coordination is underway with over 80 media professionals who will cover the Gulf Summit, ensuring comprehensive media coverage of this important event. He also noted that coordination with media personnel continues both within Kuwait and internationally too.
Additionally, Al-Mashaan noted that a media center will be set up to accompany the Gulf Summit, which will be launched on November 29 under the patronage of the Minister of Information. The center will serve as a hub for media professionals covering the summit, providing opportunities for them to meet with colleagues from outside Kuwait.
The exhibition will run until November 28, showcasing over 40 diverse photos that chronicle the successive Gulf summits, the council’s ongoing progress, and its significant achievements.
