
KCC delivered a memorable weekend of domestic action, wrapping up the finals of two of its flagship tournaments — the KCC T20 Challengers League B – 3rd Edition and the T20 Desert Emerging League – 2nd Edition — in style. The electrifying double-header was celebrated during a grand presentation ceremony powered by Al Muzaini Exchange, attended by Mr. Guruprasad (Head of Operations – Al Muzaini Exchange), Mr. Ashley (Marketing Officer – Al Muzaini Exchange), Mr. Robert D’Souza (Head of Operations – KCC), Mr. Naveen Dhananjayan (Head of Match Officials & Technical – KCC), Mr. Tahir (Venue Manager & Juniors Head Coach – KCC), along with match officials and umpires.
In the T20 Desert Emerging League – 2nd Edition, Royal Masters Cricket Club emerged as champions after edging past Team AP 11 by 2 wickets in a closely-fought final. John Peter from Royal Masters was named Best Batsman with 238 runs across five matches, including three fifties. AP 11’s Shaik Shafi stood out as Best Bowler, claiming 11 wickets including a five-wicket haul, while Tarun Sharma from Doctors Cricket Club earned Best All-Rounder for his 138 runs and 8 wickets. Rejeesh Murali took home the Player of the Final award for his match-winning 3/33 and a brisk 21 off 9 balls.
The KCC T20 Challengers League B – 3rd Edition final saw Phoenix Cricketers outplay Team Lexus by 63 runs to lift the title. Jude Saldanha from Thunder Cats was the standout batsman of the tournament with 288 runs, including a century and two half-centuries. Thewan Dion of Toyota TGS bagged Best Bowler with 10 wickets at an impressive economy of 6.28, while Phoenix Cricketers’ Renil Raj earned Best All-Rounder for his 233 runs and 7 wickets. Suneesh Thundiyil delivered a stellar performance in the final, scoring 48 runs off 27 balls and taking 2/35, earning him the Man of the Match award.
The twin tournament finales showcased the rising talent and competitive spirit in Kuwait’s domestic cricket structure, reaffirming KCC’s commitment to nurturing grassroots cricket in the country.
