Personnel Affairs Committee identifies 110 vacancies in 3 months

Over 65 percent of vacant supervisory positions for managers and department heads are filled, with women comprising about 58 percent of these roles.

There are only sixty supervisory vacancies remaining, which the Ministry of Social Affairs is striving to fill in the coming period, expecting several decisions in this regard before the end of the year.

The assistant undersecretaries of the Ministry of Social Affairs will submit evaluation reports every three months to the undersecretary of the ministry to assess the efficiency of the employees in supervisory roles.

 

The Personnel Affairs Committee at the Ministry of Social Affairs, led by Acting Undersecretary Dr. KhaledAl-Ajami, successfully identified approximately 110 vacant supervisory positions for managers, supervisors, and department heads across all sectors, representing over 65 percent of the total vacancies. Notably, the percentage of female leaders in these roles reached about 58 percent, highlighting the ministry’s commitment to empowering women and promoting them to decision-making positions, as reported by sources to Al Jarida newspaper.

The sources explained that there are only sixtysupervisory vacancies remaining, which the ministry is striving to fill in the coming period, expecting several decisions in this regard before the end of the year. They emphasized that the ministry was able to address all the issues and observations noted in the recent annual report issued by the Audit Bureau regarding the work of ministry for the fiscal year (2023/2024), particularly concerning the accommodation of vacant supervisory positions, where it successfully filled vacant jobs that had been open for three years within just three months.

Evaluation of employees

The sources stated that, according to the new mechanism adopted by the ministry to evaluate employees who have been appointed to fill vacant supervisory positions, there will be quarterly reports on their performance.

These reports will detail their achievements in the departments to which they are assigned, their effectiveness in addressing challenges, the radical solutions they implemented, and their tangible contributions to improving workflow and expediting transaction completion.

Sources pointed out that the ministry’s assistant undersecretaries will submit evaluation reports every three months to the undersecretary of the ministry to assess the efficiency of these employees in supervisory roles. This process will provide a clear picture of the ministry’s leaders regarding each employee’s eligibility for permanent appointment to the supervisory position to which they have been assigned, after the legally applicable period of one year from the issuance of the secondment decision.
