PAM temporarily lifts ban on transfer of domestic workers to private sector

The Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) has been tasked with preparing a draft decision to temporarily lift the ban on transferring domestic workers to the private sector for approximately two months.

The Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) is taking steps to develop and regulate the labor market in Kuwait. First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahd Al-Youssef, chaired the first meeting of the Board of Directors for the year 2024-2025. This meeting was significant for several reasons.

Firstly, the Board approved the final accounts of PAM for the fiscal year 2023-2024, demonstrating their commitment to transparency.

Secondly, a key decision involved PAM preparing a draft decision to temporarily lift the ban on transferring domestic workers to the private sector for two months. This initiative aims to meet the needs of the labor market.

However, to ensure a smooth process and maintain a balance between supply and demand, controls and conditions will be implemented.

Overall, this meeting reflects Minister Al-Youssef’s ongoing efforts to improve labor market policies across various sectors.
