Palestinian ambassador recalls Khaled Al-Jarallah’s legacy of wisdom and diplomacy

His Excellency Rami Tahboub, the Palestinian ambassador to Kuwait, praised Kuwait’s former deputy foreign minister as the epitome of morality, sophistication, and calmness, stating that while he may have departed physically, his legacy will forever live on in hearts and minds.

His Excellency Rami Tahboub, the Palestinian ambassador to the State of Kuwait, said “I valued the political acumen of Khaled Al-Jarallah as a lesson to learn from and sought his advice, which I believed could be beneficial to the Palestinian leadership in certain situations.”

His Excellency Rami Tahboub, the Palestinian ambassador to Kuwait, expressed his deep shock at the passing of his dear brother, Khaled Sulaiman Al- Jarallah, who departed for his heavenly abode

He recalled visiting him just last week at his Diwan to extend Ramadan greetings, where he was, as always, greeted with a warm and unwavering smile. Sitting beside him, ambassador Tahboub shared that Al-Jarallah, true to his nature, began their conversation by inquiring about the well-being of his family, reflecting his kindness and genuine concern for others.

“I claim that I was close to His Excellency, may God have mercy on him, especially after his retirement. I used to visit him in his private office or Diwan, and at times, I would even contact him by phone to seek his opinion on matters related to Palestine and its cause. I valued his political acumen as a lesson to learn from and sought his advice, which I believed could be beneficial to the Palestinian leadership in certain situations,” said the Palestinian ambassador.

“Khaled Al-Jarallah was a wise and sensible man”

The ambassador further noted, “Al-Jarallah, may God have mercy on him, was the epitome of morality, sophistication, and calmness in his dealings with everyone. He was a wise and sensible man, and no one who knew him could help but love, respect, and trust him, especially since he was a student of the wise man of Arab and international diplomacy, His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, may God bless his soul.”

The Star of Jerusalem

“I am very pleased that President Mahmoud Abbas, President of the State of Palestine, included the late Khaled Al-Jarallah in the honor he bestowed upon a group of distinguished Kuwaiti figures in 2018. This honor, led by the late Amir, His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad, took place during his official visit to Kuwait, where he awarded Al-Jarallah the Star of Jerusalem, in recognition of his unwavering support for the Palestinian cause. Al-Jarallah was one of its most ardent defenders on the international stage, resisting all pressures with wisdom and competence,” the ambassador added.

“Al-Jarallah may have left us physically, but his spirit and legacy will live on in our hearts and minds. On behalf of the Palestinian community in Kuwait, my family, and myself, I extend my deepest condolences to Kuwait—its Amir, government, and people—as well as to his family and the honorable Al-Jarallah family. I pray to God Almighty to have mercy on him and grant him a place in paradise, and may He bestow patience and solace upon his family and loved ones,” the ambassador concluded.

“To God we belong, and to Him we shall return.”
