Kuwait’s remarkable journey at the Hong Kong Sixes 2025 came to a close with a spirited performance in the grand finale against Pakistan. Despite falling short by 43 runs, Kuwait’s debut campaign will be remembered as one of the finest in tournament history — marked by fearless cricket, inspiring teamwork, and unforgettable moments that captured the spirit of the game.
Batting first, Pakistan posted a formidable 135/3 in six overs, powered by captain Abbas Afridi’s explosive 52 (11 balls) and Abdul Samad’s 42 (13). Kuwait’s young sensation Meet Bhavsar continued his stellar form, picking 3 wickets for 29 runs, once again proving his all-round brilliance.
In response, Adnan Idrees (30 off 8) and Meet Bhavsar (33 off 12) gave Kuwait a fiery start, keeping hopes alive with fearless strokeplay. However, Pakistan’s experienced attack held their nerve to restrict Kuwait to 92 all out, sealing the championship.
While Pakistan lifted the Hong Kong Sixes 2025 Trophy, Kuwait’s campaign was nothing short of extraordinary — defeating India, Afghanistan, and England, and pushing Pakistan to the limit in their opening match.
Led by captain Yasin Patel, with exceptional performances from Adnan Idrees, Meet Bhavsar, Bilal Tahir, Ravija Sandaruwan, Shafeeq Alshaibani, and Usman Patel — who impressed before being ruled out with injury — Kuwait walked away as true champions of hearts.
