PAI detects 222 violations in industrial, commercial areas during inspections

The Public Authority for Industry announced that it has carried out more than 1,000 inspection tours of industrial, service, and commercial areas under its supervision, and resulted in the detection of 222 violations.

These included the misuse of plots for purposes other than those designated, the presence of labor housing inside industrial areas, environmental and occupational safety breaches, and unlicensed subletting.

In a statement, the Authority explained that these inspection tours were conducted in line with decisions issued last September by the Minister of Commerce and Industry and Chairman of the Authority’s Board of Directors, Khalifa Al-Ajeel.

Following the issuance of decisions, specialized committees, headed by three advisors were formed to conduct a comprehensive survey of the areas, identify violations, and take appropriate legal action.

The Authority noted that, in cooperation with relevant government agencies, it has issued several warnings and closure orders and referred a number of violating plots to the Public Prosecution and the Environment Public Authority for further action.

PAI reaffirmed its commitment to enforce the law firmly and fairly to ensure that industrial, service, and craft plots are used for their intended purposes.

Minister Al-Ajeel emphasized that these measures reflect the Authority’s dedication to promoting transparency and discipline in managing industrial plots, supporting compliant factories and businesses, and fostering a fair competitive environment that boosts investor confidence and strengthens the national economy.

The Authority concluded that inspections will continue in the coming phase to cover all plots under its jurisdiction, with findings submitted to the relevant committees to enhance oversight and ensure that violations are addressed in accordance with established legal procedures.
