PAAAFR ensures market supply while protecting marine life
The Acting Director General of the Public Authority for Agriculture Affairs and Fish Resources, Engineer Salem Al-Hai, conducted a field visit to Kuwait Bay in collaboration with the Marine Control Department and a team from the Fisheries Sector to monitor the implementation of the exceptional “mullet” fishing decision.
During the visit, Engineer Al-Hai reviewed the on-ground execution of the decision and received a briefing on the regulatory measures designed to ensure environmental compliance and safeguard fish stocks.
He highlighted the need to balance local market demand for fish with the preservation of the marine ecosystem.
Concluding his visit, Engineer Al-Hai affirmed that these efforts reflect the Authority’s commitment to overseeing the implementation of fisheries decisions, meeting market needs responsibly, and protecting Kuwait’s marine environment.
