The Ministry of Electricity in the Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraq said that operations have resumed at the Iraqi Khor Mor gas field, with gas being transported to power stations starting at 2 a.m. on Sunday (23:00 GMT Saturday evening) after days of production halted following a drone attack that caused widespread power outages.
Khor Mor, one of the largest gas fields in the Kurdistan Region, provides supplies for power generation in the region, reports Al-Rai.
Dana Gas, which co-operates the field, said on Thursday that a missile hit a storage tank at the gas field, halting production and causing a widespread power outage.
No one immediately claimed responsibility, and authorities did not identify who was behind the attack.
