Ongoing maintenance of Fourth Ring Road to boost sustainability and economic efficiency

Minister of Public Works Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan said today that comprehensive maintenance work is ongoing on the Fourth Ring Road as part of newly awarded contracts aimed at enhancing both highways and internal roads across the country.
In a press statement, Dr. Al-Mashaan reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to executing all road projects according to their designated schedules while upholding the highest standards of quality and engineering oversight. She emphasized that this radical maintenance will significantly improve road efficiency and long-term sustainability, reports Al-Rai daily.
Al-Mashaan highlighted that both routine and major maintenance efforts contribute to extending the lifespan of road infrastructure and reducing the need for full reconstruction—an approach that helps curb long-term national expenditures.
She added that such works help mitigate environmental impacts, particularly damage caused by rain and high temperatures, which frequently erode surface layers of roads.
Moreover, Al-Mashaan underscored the broader national significance of road maintenance, noting its vital role in strengthening the national economy.
Beyond enhancing infrastructure, it supports sustainable development, optimizes public spending, facilitates commercial movement, and improves the quality of life for all residents in Kuwait.
