Oman – Land of Authenticity and Heritage

By Fajr Sabah

Oman is often called the land of heritage, a country that holds its past and priceless antiquities dear. Its people are frequently described as kind, generous, and warm-hearted. And indeed, this is very true—everyone who has visited Oman across its various regions can attest to that.

But Oman is also marked by development, with each region progressing in its own unique way. The country’s growth is evident without overshadowing its heritage; instead, it embraces every beautiful piece built with the spirit of the modern age.

This was not my first visit to Oman—I have visited many times, whether for tourism or work, to visit family, meet friends, attend events, or simply enjoy the atmosphere.

I have had many opportunities: climbing Jabal Shams and Jabal Akhdar, enjoying the Khareef (monsoon) season in Salalah, sleeping in homes at Sur with its gentle breezes , and passing through Rustaq, Nakhal, Sohar, and more.

I have sat on the beaches of Al-Azaiba, and I have not forgotten Wadi Nakhur, the hot springs, Al-Hadd, or the development in Nizwa, and the charm of the Green Mountain. The nature, the adventures, the capital city of Muscat and all the progress—I have seen so much in Oman.

And I did not stop there. I once shared in festive rituals, and more recently, I took part in Omani weddings.

Visiting the different areas in Oman has always been a special and unique experience. I go with excitement and longing, and return with love, joy, and eagerness.

This is how I always see Oman: a country of kindness and beauty, of regions steeped in tradition and touched by modernity, of mountains, islands, and changing seasons. Each area feels like its own town, with distinct dialects, yet united by a shared spirit of kindness, good manners, and respect.

Oman is a nation of genuine people, a country rich in all the blessings of the world—full of tourism potential, safety, comfort, and joy.
