‘Nuclear Medicine Conference’ to drive healthcare innovation in Kuwait

The Nuclear Medicine Departments Council, under the patronage of the Minister of Health, Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadhi, is organizing the “Medical Advances in Molecular Imaging and Nuclear Medicine Conference” from the 13th of this month for three days, with the participation of leading experts in nuclear medicine from the Gulf, regional, and international levels.

The Chairman of the Nuclear Medicine Departments Council and Conference Chairman, Dr. Abdul Redha Ismail, stated in a press release that the conference aims to highlight the pivotal role of nuclear medicine in diagnosing diseases, providing treatment services, and managing patients’ treatment plans. He emphasized that this contributes to improving diagnosis and treatment outcomes for various medical conditions.

Dr. Ismail highlighted that the conference will address modern innovations and technological advancements in nuclear medicine, as well as strengthens Gulf, regional, and international cooperation by exchanging expertise with the global medical community.

Moreover, Dr. Ismail explained that the conference offers a unique opportunity to connect and learn from best international practices, further reinforcing the role of nuclear medicine as a key pillar in enhancing the quality of healthcare in Kuwait.

Dr. Ismail stated that the conference is part of efforts to unify Gulf efforts in advancing nuclear medicine and molecular imaging, while reviewing the latest scientific research and innovations in this vital field.

Also, during the planning of the conference, careful attention was given to selecting precise scientific topics that aim to align the future vision of nuclear medicine at the regional level, with a focus on enhancing Gulf and regional cooperation and expanding the scope of scientific participation.

Dr. Ismail highlighted that the conference serves as a pioneering platform, bringing together an elite group of doctors, experts, and specialists in nuclear medicine and molecular imaging.

The nuclear medicine field is experiencing rapid developments and significant advancements in diagnosis and treatment through modern technologies, advanced radioisotopes, and precise devices, all of which contribute to enhancing the quality of healthcare for patients.

The Vice President of the Conference, Dr. Shaima Al Farsi, stated in a similar press release that the conference will review the latest global developments in nuclear medicine and molecular imaging through over 45 scientific sessions. These sessions will be presented by 20 specialized lecturers from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, as well as several Arab and foreign countries.

Dr. Al Farsi pointed out that the conference topics will cover Gulf expertise in nuclear medicine, including the latest developments in its use for diagnosing heart and endocrine diseases, nuclear diagnosis of bone diseases and common ailments in children, as well as recent advancements in molecular imaging for diagnosing and treating cancerous tumors. The conference will also address diseases related to the digestive and lymphatic systems.

Furthermore, Dr. Al Farsi stressed that the conference aims to create an interactive environment that fosters the exchange of knowledge and expertise among specialists, ultimately contributing to the improvement of medical services in line with the best international practices.
