DPRK (North Korea) commits to advancing friendship, cooperation with Kuwait

H.E. Ju Myong Chol, Chargé d’affaires of the Embassy of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (North Korea), said “We are ready to do everything we can to develop friendship and cooperation between our countries,” expressing his appreciation for the efforts made by the government and people of Kuwait under the wise leadership of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to achieve Vision 2035.

H.E. Ju Myong Chol, Chargé d’affaires of the Embassy of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea in Kuwait, commended Kuwait’s relations with his country, emphasizing a shared desire to improve and strengthen them.

In a speech delivered during the celebration of the 83rd anniversary of the birth of Commander Kim Jong Il, held at the embassy headquarters in the Rumaitha area and attended by a number of citizens, he stated, “We are ready to do everything we can to develop friendship and cooperation between our countries,” expressing his appreciation for the efforts made by the government and people of Kuwait under the wise leadership of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-JaberAl-Sabah to achieve Vision 2035.

He also spoke about the late great leader Kim Jong Il, who was born on February 16, 1942, in the holy Baekdo Mountain in the north of the country.

He described Kim Jong Il’s revolutionary life as a noble one, embodying true patriotism. His lofty will was to take responsibility for the fate of the people until the end, to make the flower bloom even on the rock, and to pick a star from the sky if that was what the people desired.

He added that the cause of building a strong and prosperous socialist state is being successfully continued and developed today by President Kim Jong Un, Head of State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. All his thoughts and actions are aligned with the process of realizing Commander Kim Jong Il’s vision of building a strong and prosperous state.

He said, “Under his wise leadership, the miracles and great achievements that demonstrate the power and strength of the state in various political, economic, cultural, and military fields are being realized today.”

Regarding the situation on the Korean Peninsula, he said, “The Korean Peninsula is witnessing continuous tension due to military provocative actions.”

He added that his country does not want to escalate unnecessary tensions in the region but will take sustainable countermeasures to ensure regional military balance, based on its aspiration to prevent the outbreak of a new war and ensure peace and security on the Korean Peninsula.

He continued, “It is the rightful duty of a sovereign state to steadily develop its self-defense force to contain all current and future security threats and ensure the security of the state and the strategic balance of the region.” He explained that the firm position of the Government of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea is to oppose and reject any actions that harm global peace and security.
