‘No Jail, No Fine’: Interior Ministry debunks viral ghabga rumor

The Ministry of Interior has refuted news circulating on some social media which said anyone who is organizing a ghabga without a permit is liable for a 6-month prison sentence and a fine of 1,000 dinars.

The ministry stated that it has not issued any such decision or announcement about such penalties, stressing that the information being shared online is completely incorrect and false, reports Al-Rai daily.

The ministry called on the public to be careful and avoid sharing or reposting security-related news unless it comes from official and verified sources, in order to prevent the spread of rumors and misinformation.
