KUWAIT 🇰🇼 vs DENMARK 🇩🇰

DENMARK 162/10 (35.2)
KUWAIT 166/3 (39.3)

Kuwait Won by 7 Wickets.

Kuwait continued their impressive run in the ICC CWC Challenge League A 2024-2026 with a commanding seven-wicket victory over Denmark at Grainville. After being put in to bat, Denmark looked to set a competitive target but were pegged back almost immediately by Kuwait’s disciplined bowling attack. Making his first appearance in the tournament, Nimish Lathief turned the game on its head with a stunning display of pace and accuracy. He ripped through the Danish batting line-up with figures of 5 for 39 in nine overs, breaking the backbone of the innings and ensuring Denmark could manage only 162 runs in 35.2 overs. Supported well by his fellow bowlers who maintained relentless pressure, Nimish’s spell created a dent that Denmark never recovered from.

Chasing a modest total, Kuwait did not have the smoothest start and found themselves under a bit of pressure after early wickets. However, the experienced duo of Ali Zaheer and Meet Bhavsar once again proved to be the bedrock of the batting effort. For the second time in this tournament, the pair combined to stitch a decisive partnership that settled nerves and took the game away from Denmark. Ali Zaheer played a fluent knock of 67 off 82 deliveries, mixing aggression with responsibility, while Meet Bhavsar anchored the innings superbly with a composed and unbeaten 68 off 116 balls. Their partnership not only rebuilt the chase but also showcased Kuwait’s growing consistency in the middle order.

Kuwait eventually reached the target in 39.3 overs, finishing on 166 for 3 to secure a comfortable win with 7 wickets in hand. It was a performance that highlighted the team’s depth, with the bowlers setting up the platform and the batters calmly finishing the job. The day, however, belonged to Nimish Lathief, who marked his entry into the side in spectacular fashion with a five-wicket haul, earning him the Player of the Match award. With back-to-back strong performances, Kuwait have once again shown that they are a force to be reckoned with in this campaign
