Kuwait municipality began a crackdown on bachelors living in government housing areas with municipal workers inspecting close to 430 residences and issuing eviction notices to those violating the law, as well as expelling around 60 bachelors found residing there.

Releasing a statement on the ongoing eviction campaign, the Municipality’s Public Relations Department clarified that, since the start of July, the inspection campaign ha been targeting bachelors living in private residential areas. The statement added that the municipality will receive complaints from both Kuwaitis and expats regarding any violations of the law.

The department pointed out that around 102 citations were issued since the start of the campaign, and that electricity had been disconnected from 63 houses found to be housing bachelors.
