The Ministry of Health (MoH) has set up a high-level probe panel to investigate the causes of the death of Mohammad Barjas Al-Mishari, a Kuwaiti citizen, at Al Jarha Hospital two days ago. The Ministry is determined to find out the true causes of the incident and take the appropriate legal measures if there is any medical error, it said in a statement on Saturday evening. The panel is made up of medical consultants and specialists.
Minister of Health Sheikh Dr. Basel Al-Sabah expressed sincere condolences to the family of the victims and prayed for God to loge Al-Mishari’s soul in paradise. “The regrettable incident will never go unanswered if a shortcoming or misconduct is proved to be behind it,” the statement quoted Sheikh Dr. Basel as saying.
Sheikh Dr. Basel has been following up the incident in person since he was notified of it and has promptly tasked a panel with probing it and recommending the due response, according to the statement. Meanwhile, Director of Al-Jahra Health Directorate Dr. Ahmad Al-Husseini said the panel would present its report to the minister soon as a prelude to taking any legal measure if need be. He affirmed that the Ministry pursues a zero tolerance in case of medical errors, noting that no further information on the incident would be released before the issuance of the panel’s report out of keenness on the privacy of the victim
