Kuwaiti Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Saad Al Kharraz said on Wednesday that donations from Kuwaiti charities abroad are being coordinated with the Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry through an electronic security system.
Al-Kharraz made his remarks in response to a question during a supplementary session of the National Assembly on the number of public welfare societies officially licensed in accordance with the decision to publicize charities for direct donations, locally and abroad.
He stressed that “no charity project is passed without the approval of Foreign Ministry
that follows up on the distribution.” He referred to the European and American delegations’ praise for the efforts of the Kuwait’s Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Social Affairs, and their cooperation with the Central Bank in organizing the external activities of charitable societies.
