Kuwait Fire Service Directorate (KFSD) said Tuesday it delivered over 20,000 prescribed medications to citizens’ homes in 23 days.

KFSD joined hands with the Ministry of Health to deliver prescribed medicine to citizens at their homes in a bid to encourage people to stay at their houses to reduce the possibility of coronavirus infections.

KFSD’s Director-General Khaled Al-Mekrad said deliveries of medicines to houses, quarantine facilities and clinics nationwide aimed at alleviating the burden on MoH’s medical staff. This operation, he added in a statement, contributed to physical distancing too.

Al-Mekrad said firemen started delivery of medicine from Dasman Diabetes Institute and would start delivering medicine from Jaber Al-Ahmad Armed Forces Hospital next week.
