Legal measures will be taken over certain parliamentary procedures deemed unconstitutional once high court proceedings over the matter are complete, said Kuwait’s top lawmaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim on Tuesday.
“Constitutional court rulings are fully binding,” AlGhanim said after the conclusion of parliament’s session, citing “some complaints filed in the constitutional court.” He said once the higher court has made its decision on the issue, “proper action will be taken.”
Meanwhile, Kuwait’s Minister of Commerce and Industry Khaled Al-Roudhan said that a bill over regulations covering credit information will prove beneficial for the economy.
The bill, which was endorsed by the vast majority of lawmakers, is part of a series of legislation’s, including an insurance law, that will set in motion major economic reforms, the minister said in a statement. The Kuwaiti parliament has approved a draft law regulating the exchange of credit information.
