Indian Navy ship INS Shardul arrived in Mangalore, May 25 carrying 210 MT Liquid Medical Oxygen, and 1200 Oxygen Cylinders from Kuwait.
This is part of efforts by the Kuwait government to assist India in combating the coronavirus spread in the country by providing much-needed medical supplies. Gratitude was extended to the authorities in Kuwait for the requisite support
INS Shardul was built to carry tanks, trucks, and troops. The ship was once used to transport Indians stranded overseas who requested to be repatriated in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic as they were unable to make their way home and enduring difficult circumstances.
